I have an LP factory-made djembe that is made with staves and one made by
John Millen (ThunderHeart Drums) that is also made with staves. They are
constructed just like the drawing above: two conical pieces glued together
at their narrower ends. The top piece of the LP djembe is sort of bowl
shaped, but not as "full" as the hand-carved djembes I have seen.
