Djembe built with staves ?

HI,
as a reaction to the wood questions someone mentioned that there are two ways
for building a djembe. First carving a log or second to glue staves together.
Well I have never seen the second type of djembe at least not here in GermanyHow do mange to get the shape of a Djembe when using staves ?
I tried to make it by using two konical tubes put together like this:

/ \
/ \
I also tried not to cut the staves in two parts but then it was impossilbe
for me to get the djembe shape into it. It looked more like a conga but with the smaller diameter in the mid ) (
So: is it possible to build a Djembe with staves ???
